My name is Faranak(fuh-RAH-nak) I've been a visual artist for over 29 years. Creating is my passion and what drives me in everyday life. I started my career as a professional artist by doing custom artworks and murals , shortly after I moved to United States in 1995.

   I work mostly in acrylic and mixed media; experimenting lately with collage. Composing sharp cutting lines with certain objects, figures, or just colored parts of magazines over a plain background usually makes a surreal space in my collages. I like to consider each of my works as an echo, a recording of the often obsessive internal paradoxes that haunt me. The little and big questions with every wave of thoughts, accumulating in subtle layers of ideas.

     I express the ongoing energy and dialogue that revolves around me in everyday life, also creating collages, with evoked memories and emotions I have been through over the years. My different life stage as an immigrant, who grew up under dictatorship and anti-woman culture affected my art, leading to a different direction in comparison with my earliest work.
